Portraits of Dutch birds

The series Dutch birds was created halfway through the 'lock-down', during the corona period.

A series of birds under the 'magnifying glass', as it were 'enlarged' and then; what you pay attention to, grows.
First a wren and a rook, with a berry, in the shape of a musical note.
Later... the others, on sheet music.
That was because of the silence, that the moment allowed.

Those birds, they had no opinion. They did their thing. They got ready to leave. Suddenly people wanted that too! But hey! Wait a minute. Why the rush? And then it suddenly became clearer; No human wants to be in captivity. The realization of freedom, that took on a different dimension. For humans that is!

and then we took flight.
With planes and we bought camper vans massively.
Because, we would not let ourselves be put on hold!
No-matter-what. We came back again.

and then.
We went to visit our Dutch forests.
Sometimes en masse.

It became so busy, that with our obligatory standstill,to rest, we disturbed nature - unintentionally, unknowingly.
Because, we were so busy with the outdoors and going out.
That we unconsciously, lost ourselves and how we lived before.
We had lost our way a (little).
Did we hear the silence, the birds, the creaking of the branches of the trees and the forest?

Now,
Everything what was, what is,
communicates!
We come and we go.

The arrival of the birds!
